Frequently Asked Questions

Yoga is a practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health and well-being. The word yoga is often interpreted as “union” or a method of discipline. It originated in ancient India and aims to promote relaxation, flexibility, strength, and inner peace. In simple terms, it’s like a holistic workout for your body and mind.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

  • Yoga focuses on achieving balance and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit through a combination of physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation.
  • Pilates primarily concentrates on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body awareness through specific exercises and controlled movements.

In summary, while both Pilates and yoga offer numerous physical and mental benefits, yoga tends to focus more on the spiritual and holistic aspects, while Pilates is more about physical conditioning and strengthening the body’s core muscles.
